The three Heads of School gave a moving and heartfelt speech on Thursday evening. Term ended with the School Hymn performed by a trio; we hope to sing it all together again very soon.

Just after midday today, our Year 8 pupils left the school gate for the last time as pupils of St Christopher’s. They have made the very most of their final year and managed with cheerful enthusiasm the unusual challenges it has brought. They take with them to their senior schools academic foundations, interests, and values strongly forged. I wish all those who are leaving every success; pupils moving to new schools, teachers moving on, and parents who are starting a new chapter in their lives. St Christopher’s will always be a part of you and you of it, and I hope that those who are leaving will occasionally return to their Prep School.

I would like to thank the teachers and staff for their extraordinary dedication this year, the most difficult I can remember in thirty five years as a schoolmaster, perhaps the most challenging since the Second World War. To those moving on, I wish Mr Winton, Mrs Lomax and Mr Pincott the long and happy retirement they so deserve, and Miss Lowe every success in her new role at Brighton Girls.

It has been a privilege and a joy to lead St Christopher’s over the past eight years and I shall miss you all enormously.
