At St Christopher’s, we take pride in the fact that our Year 8 pupils move on to Brighton College and a variety of Top Senior Schools in this county and beyond.
The ‘next schools’ process starts in Year 5, when parents are invited to a presentation with the Head and Deputy Head Academic, which details open days, registration and assessment procedures such as the ISEB Pre-Test for the destination schools. Preparation for the Pre-Test begins in classes in Year 5.
The Head and the Deputy Head Academic meet with all Year 5 parents to discuss the best future school for their child.
The majority of senior schools now use the ISEB Pre-Test as their selection criteria for places in Year 9. Pupils can sit one Pre-Test for various schools. Pupils at St Christopher’s Prep sit the Pre-Test in the Michaelmas Term of Year 6.
Pupils in Year 7 and 8 work towards Common Entrance or Academic Scholarship exams. We have a 100% success rate for Common Entrance passes, enabling pupils to gain a place at their choice of senior school.
